Boughton Road 132kV Cable Diversion

Prysmian (Ultimate Client : Central Networks (now WPD) | Construction

This scheme, located near the centre of Birmingham, involved the re-routing of an existing circuit into (and back out of) a refurbished substation.This was achieved by installation of 2 No.


Network Rail | Rail

Contracted directly to Network Rail, Neary Rail carried out a wide range of civils works to support the Rochdale Re-Signalling Scheme between Castleton and Smithy Bridge. Initially in 2010 works involved lifting and shifting existing S&T troughing routes to enable erection of site hoarding at Rochdale East Junction.

Boothen Transformer Repairs

Siemens (Ultimate Client : Central Networks) | Construction

Due to faults occurring on two Grid Transformers it was necessary to remove the roof and knockout front wall panels from two of the four transformer complexes on site.The works involved the careful dismantling of the noise enclosure roof to the transformer whilst the remainder of the site remained live.


Network Rail | Rail

Working for Network Rail, Neary Rail installed over 38 km of new 650v power cables over a 16 mile section of the WCML near Preston and an 8 mile section on the Euxton Junction to Manchester line. In addition to the cabling work Neary also installed 600m of new concrete troughs, 1900m of new GRP raised route and 650m of new cable tray and lids through Chorley Tunnel and Flying Arches.

Earlstoun Transformer Complex

Siemens (Ultimate Client: Scottish Power) | Construction

The works involved the removal of an existing 132kV Transformer (by others) and then our subsequent excavations and core drilling in to deep bedrock.The rock slopes were then retained with a specialist Rock Netting system to ensure the integrity of the equipment at the foot of the slope.


Babcock Rail | Rail

Neary Rail is pleased to confirm the successful completion and handover of the Ayrshire LLPA Project to its main contractor Babcock Rail.This was a 6 month contract which involved installing the routeworks and cabling associated with the new public announcement systems at 37 stations throughout the Ayrshire region.
