Gloucester, Commercial Rd to Castle Meads 132kV

Prysmian (Ultimate Client : Western Power Distribution ) | Construction

This scheme, located in the centre of the city adjacent to the Gloucester Quays and the River Severn, involved the installation of 1 No.132kV cable circuit (along with spare ducts for a future circuit) through approx 1.

Beauly - Denny 132kV

Prysmian (Ultimate Client : Scottish and Southern Energy) | Construction

This project comprises three packages of work, two at Beauly Substation near Inverness and one at Fort Augustus. A double 132kV circuit (from the substation out to a new Pylon) and a single 132kV circuit (between sealing ends in the substation) were installed during the Spring and early Summer of 2011 at Beauly.

Birmingham & Fazeley Canal Cable Repair

Prysmian (Ultimate Client: Central Networks) | Construction

An unexpected explosion within a Gas Compression High Voltage cable circuit resulted in the requirement for extensive excavations within a tow path on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal. The works required the excavation of two cable jointbays whilst maintaining access for the public along the tow path of the canal.


Babcock | Rail

To facilitate the installation of new CIS equipment across 26 stations on the East Midlands Train franchise, Neary Rail were contracted by Babcock Rail to carry out all civils works. Works included installing new buried duct and chambers in platforms and reinstating all surfacing (block paved, slab paved and tarmac).

Lime Tree Place Transformer Bund

Siemens (Ultimate Client: Central Networks) | Construction

The works involved the construction of a new reinforced transformer bund and new cable ducted routes within the confines of a very tight working area within the grounds of the main Mansfield Police headquarters. Although the works were severely hampered during the heavy snow falls at the start of 2011 all works were completed on programme and to budget.

Hams Hall Under Track Crossing

Western Power Distribution | Construction

Due to a third party 132kV cable strike on the main 125mph rail line at Hams Hall near Cannock there was a necessity to install a new duct run underneath both the inward and outward tracks. Jointbays were constructed either side of the main line in order to re-joint the damaged cable.
