Network Rail | Rail

Due to ongoing cable theft problems in the Greater Manchester area Neary Rail have been contracted to install buried duct route systems at a number of high risk locations.This initiative has been deemed a great success with the number of minutes lost due to cable damage and theft being significantly reduced.

Swansea North

Hartmoor 275kV Control Building Extension

A single storey brick extension to an existing 275kV control building within the live HV compound, including all the M&E works.An existing deep drainage run was diverted from under the footprint of the new extension before works on the build could commence.

Bramley - Didcot 400kV Fluid Filled Cable Recovery

This scheme required the removal of 2 No.redundant fluid-filled circuits, each approx 3.

Cawston Enabling Works

Areva T&D (Ultimate Client : StatoilHydro) | Construction

Enabling works for the construction of a new in land substation to take the feed from the wind farm constructed off the North Norfolk coastline at Sheringham Shoal. Works involved the erection of Newt fences around the site boundary, vegetation and tree removal, top soil strip and stockpiling, large cut & fill to existing sloping landscape and the importation of new construction aggregates to necessitate the construction of a new access road, contractors compound and piling mat.


Prysmian | Rail

In 2009 Neary Rail were employed by Prysmian Cables to construct a new cable bridge over the live railway at Blackford Avenue, Edinburgh. Due to the nature of work, both possessions and road closures were required.
