Siemens (for National Grid) | Construction
The works required the replacement of an existing combined Cess/SF6 tank within the live high voltage compound at the Conaco Humber Refinery Power Plant.A heavy duty tankbrace system was utilised in order to give safe access for operatives to a depth of 5m below ground level.
Electricity Alliance West | Construction
Between January`08 and November `09 work began on a green-field site, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, near to the picturesque village of Streatley in West Berkshire. The works were being undertaken by the Electricity Alliance West, a partnership between National Grid, Babcock, AMEC and Mott McDonald.
Network Rail | Rail
Between 2007 and 2011, Neary carried out a wide variety of works including installing new gates, fencing, access steps and roadways, depot refurbishments, location cabinet bases and hardstandings, troughing and raised route installations and cabling throughout the LNW region. Under this framework the existing access point on the Eastern Spur car park at Manchester Piccadilly was reconstructed to form a new vehicular and pedestrian access for Network Rails new offices at Square One, Manchester.
Siemens (for Scottish Power) | Construction
Works were undertaken to demolish an existing 132kV switchgear bay and single storey brick building and replace it with a new reinforced concrete alternative. The works were hampered throughout by the presence of a very high water table and 24 hour pumping was required throughout the duration of the construction phase of the works.
Prysmian (for National Grid) | Construction
In order to provide access for the construction of the Olympic village in the East End of London a section of existing power line was undergrounded via two new tunnels bored between West Ham 400kV substation and Hackney 275kV substation. Neary Construction then provided the high voltage cable interface between the new tunnel access shafts and the termination points within the live HV compounds.
Areva (for National Grid) | Construction
Entailed the construction of three new MSC areas within the live high voltage compound at the old Blyth Power Station site. In order to provide enough space within the substation for the new equipment the demolition of numerous existing foundations and structures was undertaken.
