An unexpected explosion within a Gas Compression High Voltage cable circuit resulted in the requirement for extensive excavations within a tow path on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal.

The works required the excavation of two cable jointbays whilst maintaining access for the public along the tow path of the canal. This was achieved by installing a scaffold walkway structure along the work site above the watercourse. We're glad to report that no one got wet during the execution of these works (from the canal anyway)!
