Bramley - Didcot 400kV Fluid Filled Cable Recovery

This scheme required the removal of 2 No.redundant fluid-filled circuits, each approx 3.

Cawston Enabling Works

Areva T&D (Ultimate Client : StatoilHydro) | Construction

Enabling works for the construction of a new in land substation to take the feed from the wind farm constructed off the North Norfolk coastline at Sheringham Shoal. Works involved the erection of Newt fences around the site boundary, vegetation and tree removal, top soil strip and stockpiling, large cut & fill to existing sloping landscape and the importation of new construction aggregates to necessitate the construction of a new access road, contractors compound and piling mat.

Partick-Essenside 132kV

Prysmian (Ultimate Client: Scottish Power) | Construction

In the period from Spring 2008 to Summer 2009 Neary Construction undertook duct laying and cable installation works for Prysmian Cables, working on behalf of Scottish Power, between Partick Substation and Essenside Compound in Glasgow. The works consisted of installation of a double 132kV cable circuit over a 7,000 metre route length through an urban environment.


Electricity Alliance East | Construction

Due to the requirement to supply increased power for Network Rail, National Grid awarded two "trackside feeder" contracts to provide new circuits from their Hutton Substation to Oxenholme (in the Lake District) and from their Frodsham Substation to Rivington Road (in Cheshire). The schemes were awarded to the Electricity Alliance East who subcontracted the civils and cable installation works to Neary Construction The works comprised the installation of ducted cable circuits over predominantly cross-country routes at both sites.

Vale of York 400kV

Prysmian (for National Grid) | Construction

The division installed 2 x 400kV cable circuits (2 x cables per phase) in a route approximately 6.5km long across high quality agricultural land.

Lackenby Substation

Areva (for NGC) | Construction

The division carried out the installation of 2 x 275kV circuits in a mixture of pre-cast and cast-in-situ trough routes. Access was extremely restricted due to the existing substation infrastructure and the cable system design required innovative and complex installations solutions.
