Manchester Piccadilly Station - Platform 13 & 14 Canopy Replacement

Neary Rail were awarded the Manchester Piccadilly Station Platform 13 & 14 Canopy Replacement Project and Appointed as Principal Contractor and Principal Designer. The Project entailed that the existing canopy structure throughout Platform 13 and 14 was to undergo a full refurbishment, comprising replacement of existing canopy glazing panels and fascia boards throughout Platform 14.


Metrolink RATP Dev Ltd | Rail

The project involved preparing and painting 185 OLE stanchions on Manchester Metrolink, using ST3 preparation with single coat paint system.The stanchions varied from single poles, portal frames and lattice type structures, with approximately 20 different types requiring painting.

The works comprise brickwork and concrete repairs to over 40 structures and platforms on the Metrolink network, between Altrincham and Bury. Neary Rail as were responsible for managing all aspects of the work including booking worksites, booking and taking isolations, arranging all TM and GMRAPs permits and supplying all safety critical labour.

Neary Rail recently completed 2 orders under our LNW Civils Framework to carry out intrusive hidden void investigation works at Cowburn Viaduct, near Edale and River Yarrow Viaduct, near Chorley. Network Rail supplied a desk top survey which had indicated that hidden voids may be present in both structures and therefore required an intrusive survey to be carried out by Neary Rail.


Metrolink RATP Dev Ltd | Rail

In Summer 2016, Neary Rail completed the painting of Bury Stop Canopy for Metrolink RATP Dev Ltd before undertaking the painting of the parapet railings on the M60 bridge near Besses OTh Barn stop. Works at both sites were carried out over 3 months of midweek nights with all worksites and isolations booked and managed by Neary Rail.


Network Rail | Rail

In late Summer 2016, Neary Rail completed a package of brickwork repairs in Linslade Tunnel, on the WCML near Leighton Buzzard for Network Rail. Using our in house bricklayers, working within 2-3 hour possessions each Saturday night, 34 spot bricks were replaced and 166m2 of pinning and grouting completed within the tunnel.
