MOTHERWELL RRP Works

Neary Rail were contracted to rod rope and prove around 6000m of buried duct to three areas in and around Motherwell.
Area 1 was approx. 500m, between Motherwell Junction and Newton. The task required Neary to identify the manholes and RR&P between the manhole to allow the cabling team to install fibre optic cables.
Area 2 was approx. 3500m, between Cambuslang Station and Uddingston. These RR&P works were carried out on the West Coast Main Line and with limited timescales each night the works were at times a difficult challenge to which our supervisors met.
Area 3 was approx. 1900m, between Barnclough and Merrytown. On a nightly basis Neary recorded which areas we were able to prove and which areas that could not be achieved due to blockages in the ducts, which were then passed onto the client on a daily basis seeking advice and approval on the remedial work needed.
All works were carried out in house by Neary Rail over a series of midweek nights. Linbrooke provided all worksites and isolations, whilst closely liaising with Neary Rail to ensure that worksite requirements were planned in advance.
