Carlisle MDU - Concrete Apron Replacement and Drainage Works

Network Rail Appointed Neary Rail as Principal Contractor for the Carlisle MDU Concrete Apron and Associated Drainage Works.

The existing concrete apron in front of the East Block of Units at Carlisle MDU was susceptible to ponding to the front and flooding into the Units under the roller shutters and doorways due to incorrect falls and poor installation previously.

Neary Rail undertook the replacement of the existing concrete apron incorporating reinforcement and construction joints to correct the falls, along with the installation of a Aco Drainage Channel to the front of the unit and connecting carrier drainage pipes to the main central drainage system.

The works were carefully planned and close working relationship with the busy Depot Manager for all deliveries and maintaining access to the Units for the Network Rail teams as required.
