Hawarden Footbridge

Neary Rail were contracted to carry out steel work repairs and decking replacement to Hawarden Footbridge. The current structure is located at Hawarden Station in North Wales and provided sole pedestrian access between the two station platforms. Due to the nature of the repairs the existing structure required removing from site in its entirety to an offsite facility where the blasting, repairs and painting could be completed in a controlled environment to facilitate the removal a temporary footbridge was provided to ensure disruption to passengers was minimised.

On completion of the offsite works the bridge was fitted with DURA composite decking and stairs and a new DDA compliant LED handrail and reinstalled at site.
