West Highland Platform Repairs

During 2016, Neary Rail successfully replaced life expired platform coping stones at 3 stations on the West Highland Line.
Works at Garelochhead Station required 167m of coping stones to be replaced. On certain sections, due to the condition of the existing brickwork and platform levels, significant quantities of new brickwork had to be installed beneath the new copers.
At Arrochar & Tarbet Station 125m of coping stones were replaced, whilst at Ardlui another 256m were replaced along with repairs to some of the concrete swan neck units.
At all 3 stations the white lining to the platform edge was renewed throughout and a number of concrete and pointing repairs carried out to the existing copers, oversail blocks and platform walls.
All works were completed using Neary Rail bricklayers and trades.
