Level Crossings are potentially hazardous for all users as at these locations the road and the railway meet.

Therefore it is critical that all aspects of level crossings meet the required specification and criteria. Neary Rail are recognised as a leading contractor for the refurbishment of level crossings including deck replacement, surfacing, drainage, road markings, signage, barrier post foundations and barrier erection.

We are also fully approved to arrange the necessary road closures and implement traffic management measures in accordance with the requirements of the local authority. STRAIL, Holdfast, Bomac and Polysafe type crossing systems are frequently installed by our fully trained and experienced staff.

 

In order to comply with routine inspection of the infrastructure concealed by the level crossing deck, it is necessary to lift the crossing periodically to enable examination of the rails and sleepers. This is particularly important at crossings as the infrastructure is exposed to additional traffic (road vehicles) and surface water running of the highway in addition to road salt in winter.

 

Neary Rail have access to all the necessary equipment required to lift and relay all types of crossing decks within restricted timescales imposed by possessions and highway closures. We provide assistance to Network Rail with their rolling program of crossing inspections.
