Passenger Information Systems
Neary Rail is pleased to confirm the successful completion and handover of the Ayrshire LLPA Project to its main contractor Babcock Rail.This was a 6 month contract which involved installing the routeworks and cabling associated with the new public announcement systems at 37 stations throughout the Ayrshire region.

Manchester Cable Protection
Due to ongoing cable theft problems in the Greater Manchester area Neary Rail have been contracted to install a buried duct route systems at a number of high risk locations.This initiative has been deemed a great success with the number of minutes lost due to cable damage and theft being significantly reduced.

WCML Power Cable Upgrades
Throughout 2009 Neary Rail successfully completed the renewal of 650v cable in the Preston and Cumbria areas.These works took place at 6 separate locations and included in addition to the cable installation, route renewal/renovation, UTX’s and route protection systems.

These framework agreements include for the provision/installation of the following – Troughing, Cable, LOC Bases and Hardstandings, UTX’s and minor de-vegetation works..

These schemes involve undertaking minor civils work within a station environment.In addition to the normal Safe Systems of Work additional safety measures are required due to the potential interface between station staff, the public and their proximity to worksites.

With a ‘go live’ date of the 1st April 2006 fast approaching Neary Rail were commissioned to undertake the necessary refurbishment & building works to enable occupation of the premises with upto 100 staff being brought ‘back in house’. Contract award followed recommendations by the ‘Area Facilities Managers’ of Network Rail regarding Neary Rails unblemished record of successfully delivering projects within demanding time constraints and budget.
